Mt buller
Well I've spent some days helping out a mate who's doing a re-fit of a lodge up at Mt Buller. It was an interesting time up there, unfortunately my ankles played up a lot and I ripped some skin off my right ankle witch didn't help, but hey it was fun.

This week.
Well it has been a busy week down Swanpool way. I spent two days boxing out some pads for tables & chairs down at the Hall, then Wednesday we were at the concrete pour. Today I get my 'old' computer back, should be interesting.

"Gregorian Track"
Well at last the "Gregorian Track" is completed, well as complete as I want it to be, it now runs from the Swanpool Store to the Midland Caravan Park a total distance of 6.5 road Km about 7.5 walking km's. I'm really happy to have completed it with only one exception, an old couple I've mentioned before, who do not want people walking past their place. After I had mowed the path past their place the old bastard got his tractor out and plowed that piece of the track outside their place what a d***head. Anyway it's all pretty good with all the culverts and bridges in place now, I'm well chuffed.

Working bee.
Today a small group of us had a working bee at the Football/Netball ground. I started by cleaning out the womens toilet block, then put a couple of bollards in then I filled a hole with soil. After that I helped the others to cut a door in the change rooms, then of course all the broken concrete had to be cleaned up. It was a fairly good day but there is still a lot to be done, with only 8 weeks to go before the start of the season.
This evening I did some mowing to clear up the walking track and of course I had to have an apple that grows wild along the track.

A little Dutch courage.
Well it's been some time, but I'm back. A little over a week ago I came across a couple who had decided to camp with their "swish-bang" up at the footy ground. This couple, it turns out were from Holland, and were on a years trip around the world and Swanpool was an overnight stopping place. Well one thing led to another and we invited them to stay at our place, and we are very happy they have done so. They have traveled around the area quiet a bit using our place as a base, but today they are moving on. First to Hall's Gap and then to Adelaide where they leave Australia to go to their next stop, New Zealand for four and a half months, before going on to Canada. It will be a shame to see them go as it has been a real pleasure having them stay with us. We have learnt a lot, not only about them but also the land they come from, and who knows a trip to Holland is not such a pipe dream now.
